Motorcyclist crashes at familiar spot

Less than a week after a motorcyclist died on one of U.S. Highway 50’s many curves, a Sacramento man was injured in the same place.

California Highway Patrol officers said Stewart Allen Green, 56, was traveling east, between Twin Bridges and Camp Sacramento, on Friday when he entered the curve at Rock Crusher and lost control of his motorcycle.

Officers said that around 11 a.m. Green drifted onto the asphalt shoulder and then into some gravel. The motorcycle slid and landed on its left side before overturning several times. Green was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital with major injures, but by Monday he had been released.

On June 13, a Gardnerville man was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle in the same curve and slid into a parked car.
