Motorcyclist flown to Reno following crash

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – A 28-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno Wednesday after she was struck while riding a motorcycle eastbound on Lake Tahoe Boulevard.

The crash happened about 10:20 a.m. near the Budget Inn when a truck traveling westbound made a left hand turn in front of the woman, said Lt. David Stevenson. The driver of the truck did not see the motorcyclist, Stevenson said.

Police did not have details regarding the woman’s injuries. She was alert and breathing at the scene, Stevenson said.

Lake Tahoe Boulevard was closed for about 20 minutes while a CALSTAR helicopter crew tended to the woman, Stevenson said.
