Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident at Jacks Valley Road and Highway 395 that occurred at 2:01 p.m.

When rescuers arrived at the accident in the southbound lanes of the highway, the victim was unconscious.

According to Trooper Chuck Allen of the Nevada Highway Patrol, the driver of a pickup was stopped waiting to turn left on North Sunridge Drive in the southbound turn lane.

Allen said the motorcyclist apparently didn’t see the pickup and ran into the back of the truck.

The victim was taken to the Sunridge Fire Station, where he died of his injuries.
