Motorcyclists killed in crash

A Reno couple died when a motorcycle they were riding crashed into a tree alongside Highway 89 about six miles south of the Mono-Alpine county line.

Roger Morrical, 58, was driving the 2000 Harley-Davidson and his wife, Marilyn Morrical, 54, was a passenger.

California Highway Patrol investigators said they do not yet know why the bike, headed southbound, veered off the road around 12:45 p.m. Saturday.

Marilyn Morrical was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident but her husband was not.
