Whittell High School student Sam Harris was crowned the 2010 “Mr. Whittell” in March during the school’s annual all-male “beauty contest” that helps raise money for the school’s Safe and Sober Grad Night.

The tongue-in-cheek event, which raised $2,000 this year, began with an active wear competition, followed by talent and formal wear. Finally, there was a question-and-answer portion where boys give less-the-serious answers.

The contestants included Harris, Cody Nelson, Chris Crawford, Turner Yates, Miguel Nava, Kevin Novotny and Adam Laub.

Harris danced to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies,” performing the entire video.

In addition to the top honor, Laub won “Mr. Congeniality,” Novotny was “Viewer’s Choice” and Nelson was the runner-up.
