Mrs. California contest seeks Tahoe contestants

The search is on to find the one woman to represent South Lake Tahoe in the Mrs. California United States Pageant. the charity for the pageant will be Toys for Tots. The pageant will take place at Lake San Marcos, Calif., the weekend of April 4, 2003.

The married woman selected to represent South Lake Tahoe will receive an official city title, banner, tiara and will compete for the title of Mrs. California United States. The state pageant is the only official preliminary to the Mrs. United States Pageant that takes place at Las Vegas and the only preliminary to the Mrs. Universe International Pageant. Judging for the pageant is based upon private interview, swim wear and evening gown competitions. Husbands are a key factor in the pageant as they will escort their wives onstage and one will help crown his wife as the new Mrs. California United States.

Entrants must be 21 years of age, of good moral character and residing with her husband. She may be a career woman, housewife or grandmother. For information on becoming South Lake Tahoe’s title holder, visit the Web page at or contact director Diana McKinney at (800) 243-9190.
