Music programs get instruments
June 23, 2011
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation board donated money in 2011 year to purchase new equipment for the music programs in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District.
The money replaced a 50-year-old set of chimes used by the percussion sections of four different bands from sixth grade to eighth. Two new bass guitars and an amplifier were purchased for the high school garage band class. This class is a new part of the high school’s performing arts curriculum. A violin was obtained for the beginning elementary instrumental music program. This will result in one additional student spot each year.
The Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation was created in 1989 to support excellence in education in South Lake Tahoe, and support the educational programs and needs of the Lake Tahoe Unified School District. For more information, visit http://ltedf.org.
