Music students perform regionally

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – In early January, two South Tahoe High School students performed with the Capitol Section Honor Band in Sacramento. Rose Campion, playing trombone, and Nick Sullivan, percussionist, were selected to participate after submitting audition tapes in November 2010. Band director Casson Scowcroft accompanied the musicians to a live audition and four rehearsals. The concert was performed afternoon to a standing room only crowd. The band was conducted by Royce Tevis, Director of Music at CSU-Chico. In November, Rose Campion, Thomas Smith and Bryan Arreola performed in four different honor bands at the Western International Band Clinic in Seattle, Wash. More than 600 students from as far away as Australia participated. Campion, Smith, Joseph Nobles and Greg Baghdikian were selected to perform with the Chico State Alumni Band in November.
