Musician suspected of bike theft

William Ferchland

A 30-year-old musician was seen taking a yellow Suzuki dirt bike from a house on the 190 block of Willow Drive, a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy said.

The owner of the bike saw the man taking it around 2 a.m. earlier this month. The resident yelled from the house and went outside to wrestle the man to the ground. The man then returned the bike to the trailer.

The musician told authorities he was attacked by several men, ran several miles and viewed the bike as his only means of escape. Deputies said there were marks on the man’s face but nearby snow imprints suggested the man had been walking.

The musician was booked into Douglas County Jail at $25,000 bail on one count of suspicion of grand larceny.
