TRUCKEE – The man convicted of stealing more than $300,000 from the Donner Summit Public Utility District was sentenced Tuesday to four years in prison and more than $384,000 in restitution.

Norden resident Steven Grimm was the general manager at the utility district when he embezzled the funds, which Nevada County sheriff’s investigators have estimated to total more than $500,000.

Grimm was joined by family and friends in the Nevada County Superior Court Truckee division during sentencing. The DSPUD’s current general manager, attorney and a few of the district’s trustees were also there.

Judge C. Anders Holmer read Grimm’s sentence and restitution for the court, adding that “the amount of taking was huge.”
