New airport service between Reno and Carson City

Pride, which stands for Public Rural Ride, started Friday as a weekend bus service that operates between Reno and Carson City. The weekday service will be announced later.

It will provide service to the Reno/Tahoe International Airport on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Pickup points from Reno to Carson City include the airport, Meadowood Mall, Carson City Kmart, Nevada Department of Transportation office and the Carson City Wall-mart.

One-way fares cost $3 for adults, $1.50 for seniors and disabled riders $2.00 for youth ages 5 to 18. Children under 5 years old may ride for free. Pride 10-ride ticket books are also available to adults for $30 and youth for $20.

Pride will offer free transfers to Citifare in Reno/Sparks and Carson City Community Transit.

Pride is a joint project of the Nevada Department of Transportation, Carson City Community Transportation and Regional Transportation Commission – a regional public agency that administers the program.

Those who are interested in the service and have questions may call 775-348-0400 for more information.
