New faces on LTVA board

Sally J. Taylor

With two new members on its seven-member board, the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority will meet Thursday at 3 p.m. at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.

Dennis Harmon, the managing director for Heavenly Ski Resort, will join the head table in the member-at-large seat. Kevin Servatius, senior vice president and general manager of Harveys Resort Hotel/Casino, is the new appointment for the Lake Tahoe Gaming Alliance.

Among the items on the agenda is consideration of $10,000 for promotions with Southwest Airlines to promote its new nonstop Saturday flights to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport from Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.

The board will also consider a $2,000 budget increase for printing and distribution of the Lakewide Special Events and Entertainment brochure. Last year, venues distributing the first ever lakewide events brochure ran out. It is expected to replace other, less comprehensive brochures.
