New Hornblower GM

Hornblower Cruises and Events-Lake Tahoe will soon be getting a new general manager at the helm.

Coming aboard on March 20, Carol Chaplin will replace Mike Weber, who is in negotiations to return as operator of Camp Richardson.

“I thought long and hard about leaving Hornblower because it is such a great company to work for,” Weber said, “but the opportunity to operate a piece of Tahoe is worth it.”

A resident of South Lake Tahoe for 18 years, Chaplin has positioned herself as key player in the community.

“Mike brought us a lot of community exposure and Carol is a good match because she has that same exposure,” said Kelly Krolicki, director of community relations.

With an extensive background in marketing and food and beverage experience, Chaplin spent 15 years with Tahoe Seasons Resort. Since September, Chaplin has been employed with Sunterra Resorts as a regional marketing manager.

“Hornblower is a tremendous operation and has a great vision for the future,” Chaplin said. “It will be quite challenging with exciting opportunities. More than anything I feel I can help support Hornblower’s efforts. It will be a good fit for me to be more locally oriented.”
