Due to recent burglaries, the Skyland General Improvement District at Zephyr Cove has appointed an ad hoc committee to organize a Neighborhood Watch group.

Ann Grant has volunteered to organize the committee, and block captains have volunteered on every street in Skyland to keep watch for any suspicious activity and report it to the Douglas County sheriff. A letter has been mailed to all homeowners asking them to participate.

According to the Douglas County sheriff, many Lake Tahoe neighborhoods have experienced burglaries or other crimes of opportunity. With greater neighbor-to-neighbor involvement, Skyland homeowners want to eliminate that chance of opportunity.

For more information, contact Ann Grant at (775) 588-0641.
