New sacred space for Unity at the Lake

Unity at the Lake has a new office and sacred space for gatherings, prayer and healing circles, workshops, classes, spiritual movie nights and other positive community happenings. The new office is in the Star Lake building, 2489 Lake Tahoe Blvd., Suite 27.

To kick off events in the new office, spiritual leaders Hillary and Stew Bittman will offer the first in a monthly series of “Spiritual Life Tools” classes, titled “Practicing Love Every Day,” from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. Come learn how to be more open to giving and receiving love – the most powerful healing force in the universe. A love offering donation is requested.

Pierre Couvillion will lead a Sanskrit workshop, “The Healing Power of Sound,” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at the Star Lake building. The workshop will offer the first step in learning Sanskrit and conclude with meditation using the Sanskrit seed sounds, which connect individuals to specific centers of the body. A $10 donation is requested.

Unity at the Lake will continue its Sunday celebration service at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd., including the Youth Empowerment Program and music by One Voice. Meditation is at 9 a.m., and the celebration service is at 10. This is a sacred gathering honoring people of all faiths.
