New student registration set for LTUSD

Registration for high school students new to Lake Tahoe Unified School District is scheduled for August 21 through 23 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Students wishing to register must make an appointment and be accompanied by a parent.

Students should bring transcripts from their previous school or their last report card.

In order to register, California state law requires students new to the district must have a copy of their immunization records. Students who have not attended a California school in the past must have a varicella immunization or provide proof that they have already had the chicken pox.

It is mandatory in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District to have a TB Mantoux skin test prior to enrollment. The test must have been administered within the past six months. This may be done through a private physician or through the El Dorado County Public Health Department, which administers the test weekdays, excluding Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Orientation for freshmen and any high school student new to the district is scheduled for August 30 at 10:30 a.m. at South Tahoe High School.
