New TDVA board member identified

Michael Schneider

The Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority Board of Directors is once again whole.

The TDVA board’s nomination of Todd Majoris, Lakeside Inn and Casino’s innovation and marketing director, was unanimously confirmed Thursday by the Douglas County Commission.

Majoris will take the seat vacated by former Horizon Casino Resort’s Director of Marketing, Sandy Hoy.

The Horizon is involved in ongoing staff changes. The casino’s new general manager nominated Majoris, at least for an interim period, according to Pat Dennehy, president of the board of directors for the Lake Tahoe Gaming Alliance.

Majoris, who’s been with the Lakeside for about a decade, has been active in the South Shore community.

He has served on the Tahoe Douglas Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority’s Marketing Committee.

Majoris’ first TDVA meeting will be next Wednesday.

The authority was created by Assembly Bill 616 in the 1997 Nevada Legislative session to oversee the distribution of Tahoe Township room tax money for Lake Tahoe tourism promotion.

The TDVA board consists of four casino representatives and one Douglas County commissioner.
