New Year’s Eve party in Alpine County is for families

MARKLEEVILLE – The Alpine County annual New Year’s party for families is scheduled to take place at Turtle Rock Park.

The party begins at 6 p.m., New Year’s Eve with games for kids and dancing for adults. Pizza and soda for dinner – guests are asked to provide desserts or snacks. Activities for kids will include Bingo, a yo-yo contest and family games. Prizes and other giveaways are planned.

Dancing for adults begins at 10:30 p.m. The Alpine Trio will provide music, and children may listen or dance along.



The New Year will be toasted in with sparkling cider, and the party is billed as a family event and is tobacco- and alcohol-free.

Sponsors of the party are Tobacco Education, Alpine Children’s Center Family Support Services, Alpine Children’s Center Home Visitor Program and Alpine Kids Program.




Turtle Rock Park is located between Woodfords and Markleeville on California State Route 89. Financial aid for the event comes from various state funds.
