U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer has established an office at the El Dorado County Library in South Lake Tahoe this afternoon to hear constituents issues related to the federal government.

The mobile office will be open from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd.

Boxer’s staff will hear matters involving agencies such as the Veterans Administration, Social Security Administration and others.

‘Star Trek’ talk at college canceled

“The Cultural Phenomenon of Star Trek” lecture, which was scheduled for Friday from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Lake Tahoe Community College, has been canceled, according to Christina Proctor, the college’s public information officer.

Tickets already purchased for the event will be fully refunded.
