News briefs: Fundraiser for teacher; school site council meeting

A leadership class at South Tahoe Middle School is making an 8-foot tree out of paper called “Tree of Life.” Leaves will be sold for $1 for individuals to write inspirational messages for Scott Hudson and his family.

Hudson, an STMS teacher, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer last fall and lost his home in the Angora fire.

The goal is to fill the tree with leaves in the next two weeks. Then the tree will hang in the Hudsons’ home. Leaves can be purchased at the middle school.

South Tahoe High School will be hosting a school site council meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The meeting will be held in the South Tahoe High School library.
