Nifty 50 adds stops

Beginning June 15, the Nifty 50 trolley will add more stops to its routes to promote ridership throughout the day and evening, the South Shore Transportation Management Association reported.

The daily schedule of two-hour rides runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The “A” route, which runs from Stateline to the “Y” to Camp Richardson, has added four stops, totaling 48. The “B” route, which completes a circle down U.S. Highway 50 from Stateline, has picked up two more stops. This makes the total 43.

Tickets are $3 each.

A promotional flyer highlighting restaurants around town may be picked up on the trolley and at the South Lake Tahoe and Tahoe-Douglas chambers of commerce. The latter chamber recently gave the trolley a $500 boost in funding.

The trolley will also operate over the first weekend of the Valhalla Renaissance Festival June 2 and 3.
