No injuries reported following Sunday night fire

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – No one was injured in a Sunday night fire that caused about $40,000 in damage to a mobile home at Tahoe Verde, according to a statement from the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department.

Firefighters from the city and Lake Valley Fire Protection District responded to a report of a fire at 1080 Julie Lane about 10:20 p.m. When they arrived they found a third of the interior of a double wide on fire, said Division Chief Marty Scheuerman in the statement.

A large amount of heat and smoke was found in the attic space of the home. Firefighters used an attack line from the a fire truck to quickly extinguish the fire.

“The quick action of the initial attack crews kept the fire contained to the structure and kept it from spreading to adjacent structures,” Scheuerman said.

The mobile home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The cause is undetermined and is under investigation.
