Norway group meets Thursday

Tahoe Daily Tribune

The daughters of Norway Queen Maud Lodge No. 42 will meet in Carson City at 6:30 p.m. May 15 in the recreation room of the Comstock Mobile Village at 2601 E. College Parkway. Sandra Tucker and Susan Coleman will present a program on Bunads, the national costume of Norway.

Founded October 20, 2001, the group presents programs to preserve Norwegian heritage; to maintain knowledge of the history, culture and language of Norway; and to build a support system and friendship within the group.

Women are invited to join the lodge who are of Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish or Icelandic heritage or who are married or have been married of that heritage.
