NTHS reunion for 1980 class

Widowed men in the area are invited to join with other widowed persons who have formed a chapter of the Widowed Persons Association of California. Members meet monthly for dinner in a member’s home, where a brief business meeting is conducted, but that is only the beginning.

Those interested in the outdoors meet for hiking in the summer and cross country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter. Others choose to get together to attend theater or concerts or other venues. Special trips such as winery tours have been scheduled at times.

Regularly scheduled events include a monthly “chat ‘n chew” luncheon, a pizza night and a mystery dinner. Weekly during the summer months members meet at the beach for a barbecue.

All events are no-host except that members take turns selecting sites for events and making reservations. A recent addition to the program has been a men’s-only breakfast.

Information on membership and a calendar of events is available by calling (530) 542-4912.

The North Tahoe High School graduating class of 1980 is planning its 25-year reunion Aug. 19 and 20 at Kings Beach. Alumni from 1979 and 1981 are invited to attend as well as other alumni from other classes.
