Obit — Charles J. Murray

Services will take place in the Netherlands at a later date for Charles J. Murray, who died Dec. 23, 2002, at Carson City, Nev. He was 78.

Mr. Murray was born May 13, 1924, at St. Louis, Mo., to Clarence and Vernial Murray. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and following the war he went east to finish his education in teaching. He and his wife moved to Lake Tahoe in 1963, where he became a teacher. He later received his Ph.D. in education and was a special education teacher at Tahoe for 20 years. After retiring Mr. Murray and his wife lived in Europe for a few years before returning to Lake Tahoe. He had resided in Gardnerville, Nev., until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Rini Murray of Gardnerville, Nev.



Donations in Mr. Murray’s memory may be made to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe or to the Douglas County Animal Shelter.

Arrangements are by FitzHenry’s Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville.
