Obit — David Lee Holmgren

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Feb. 4 for David Lee Holmgren, who died Jan. 29 at his home in Carson City, Nev. He was 54.

Mr. Holmgren was born May 29, 1948, at Oakland, Calif., and was a 1966 graduate of George Whittell High School in Zephyr Cove, Nev. A 25-year resident of Carson City, he was a slot supervisor for 20 years at the former Sahara Tahoe Resort Casino at Stateline, Nev., and also worked at the Biltmore on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. He was a volunteer at F.I.S.H., a charity organization in Carson City. Mr. Holmgren enjoyed hunting, photography and cameras.

Survivors include his parents, Lily and Verne Dille of Gardnerville, Nev.; brothers, Daniel Holmgren of South Lake Tahoe and Donald Dille of Montgomery, Texas; and sister, Sharon Guthmiller of Columbia, Tenn.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Feb. 4 at St. Gall Catholic Church, Gardnerville, followed by interment at Happy Homestead Cemetery at South Lake Tahoe.
