Obit — Elroy ‘Drax’ Draxton

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Jan. 2 for ElRoy “Drax” Draxton, who died Dec. 28, 2002, at San Jose, Calif. He was 79.

A native of Litchfield, Minn., Mr. Draxton was a World War II veteran and a retired Civil Service employee at Travis Air Force Base. He had been the owner and operator of the Green Lantern Motel in South Lake Tahoe for 28 years.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Draxton; children; Terri Beam, Kathleen Sutherland, Mike and Greg Draxton; and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Marie Draxton, three brothers and one sister.



A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Jan. 2 at Sacred Heart Church, 13724 Saratoga Ave., Saratoga, Calif.

Arrangements are under the direction of Alameda Family Saratoga-Cupertino Funeral Home.
