Obit — John Paul Collins

Funeral services will take place Dec. 2 for John Paul Collins, who died Nov. 23, 2002, at South Lake Tahoe. He was 32.

Mr. Collins was born Sept. 3, 1970, at South Lake Tahoe. A 1989 graduate of South Tahoe High School, he had been employed at Raley’s Supermarket for nine years and had worked as head clerk at Safeway Supermarket for the past year. He liked to work on cars and enjoyed off-road four-wheel driving. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.

He is survived by his father, Robert Collins Sr. of South Lake Tahoe; mother, Donelda Caban of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Kayla and Alyssa Collins of South Lake Tahoe; brothers, Robert Collins Jr. and Simon Cabana of Las Vegas; sister, Donelda of Las Vegas; grandmothers, Wave Baxter of Diamond Springs, Calif., and Virginia Howard of Las Vegas; and former wife and mother of his daughters, Karen Collins of South Lake Tahoe.

Visitation will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Nov. 29 at MrFarlane Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Dec. 2 at Sierra Community Church, followed by interment at Happy Homestead Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Mr. Collins’ memory be made to a Trust Fund for Kayla and Alyssa Collins that has been established at El Dorado Savings and Loan.
