Obit — Max W. Schlusmeyer

Memorial services are pending for Max W. Schlusmeyer, who died Jan. 2, 2003, at Palm Desert, Calif. He was 85.

Mr. Schlusmeyer was born Feb. 16, 1917, at Waverley, Ohio, and moved to Los Beach, Calif., when he was a young child. He graduated from Beverly Hills High School and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and his MBA from Stanford University. Mr. Schlusmeyer served in the military during World War II and joined PaineWebber investment company as a stockbroker. He married Frances M. Clark in 1951. Following his retirement in 1961, they resided at South Lake Tahoe, where they were the second permanent family to have a home in the Tahoe Keys. They later moved to Zephyr Cove and have lived at Genoa Lakes, Nev., for the past several years. They spent their winters at Palm Desert. Mr. Schlusmeyer continued in investments following his retirement and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and boating.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Frances. M. Schlusmeyer of Genoa Lakes; daughter-in-law, Donna Schlusmeyer of Arcadia, Calif.; grandchildren, Stacey, Megan and Mark Schlusmeyer; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Alan Schlusmeyer, in February 2002.
