Obit – Michael Austin

Two observances are planned July 22 at South Lake Tahoe for Michael Austin, who died in his parents’ arms May 4, 2001, at Omaha, Neb. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, followed by a Celebration of Life at 9 a.m. at Rojo’s Restaurant and Bar.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend either or both celebrations in the name of Michael’s spirit and those of his family. Everyone should bring their thoughts, stories and pictures to share.

Mr. Austin was born Oct. 12, 1955, and had been a 20-year resident of South Lake Tahoe. He had worked at Raley’s and was a self-employed painter. He loved his dog and enjoyed playing sports. He was active with softball and basketball community leagues.

Survivors include his mother and father, Gerald and Mary Austin of Norfolk, Neb., and brother, Steve Austin of California.
