Obit – Phyllis Dale Ross

Phyllis Dale Ross of South Lake Tahoe, who died Sept. 15, 2002, following a long illness, will be buried next to her parents at Emery, S.D. She was 72.

Mrs. Ross was born Dec. 7, 1929, to Alvina (Schuldt) and William Dittman at Emery, where she graduated from high school. She worked for the U.S. Navy Civil Service for 21 years before retiring to South Lake Tahoe. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by daughters, Gloria Jean Kunkel of Alexandria, S.D., Katherine Ann Walz of Madras, Ore.,and Pamela Kay Richardson of San Diego, Calif.; sons, Dale James Ross, Paul William Ross and William Knight III, all of South Lake Tahoe; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Dahlinger of Lincoln, Neb.; brother, William Dittman of Camarillo, Calif.; two aunts and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marvin and Forest; and sisters, Betty and Maria.
