Obit — Richard Corley

Memorial services will be conducted Jan. 11 for Richard Corley, who died Dec. 25, 2002, with his family at his side. He was 66.

Following high school he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as an electrician. Shortly after, he found his career in life working at Anheuser Busch as a brewing supervisor. Thirty-three years later he retired to Lake Tahoe, where he did anything but settle down. He worked for ATM and other transit companies for the next eight years. During his retirement he was a constant face in the neighborhood, where his neighbors always knew he was there to give a helping hand. Both he and his wife were very active, riding bikes nearly everyday or hiking to places like Cascade Falls or cross country skiing in the winter. He also loved to downhill ski. Over the years he touched many lives and had made many friends all over the world. His family and friends will always remember him for the wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great friend and neighbor that he always was.

Survivors include his wife of 44 year, Vera Ann Corley; daughter, Christy; and grandchildren, Christopher and Katie.

Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. Jan. 11 at American Legion Post 795, 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
