Obit-Robert Joseph Valdez

A memorial Mass will take place Oct. 2 for Robert Joseph Valdez, who died Sept. 28, 2002, at Oakland, Calif. He was 63.

A native of Raton, N.M., Mr. Valdez resided at South Lake Tahoe for more than 25 years. Prior to that he lived in Berkeley, Calif. He worked in the retail industry for more than 40 years. Mr. Valdez enjoyed playing golf and boating and loved being outdoors. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.

He is survived by his mother, Delia Valdez of El Cerrito, Calif.; daughter, Merrilee Silveira of Fairfield, Calif.; grandchildren, Sancianna and Joseph Silveira of Fairfield; cousin, Lucille Young of Fairfield; aunt, Ruby Humphrey of Carson City, Nev.; and many relatives at Lake Tahoe and Nebraska.



A memorial Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 2 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1640 Addison, Berkeley, Calif. Private burial will follow.
