Angela Gaye Peart

Angela Gaye Peart of South Lake Tahoe, California passed from this life to go home to be with her Lord on February 3, 2017, just 5 days short of her 52nd birthday due to complications from a hard fought battle with cancer. A life all too short but all very well lived. Angie reached out to others throughout her life and was known for her smile and sparkle.
In high school Angie worked as a counselor at Kidder Creek Presbyterian Camp, Etna, CA, where she made many lifelong friends. Angie was a member of Hearts and Hands, a loving group of women who did crafts for others, including making Prayer Shawls to give to others in their time of need. She also enjoyed volunteering for Bread and Broth locally. Angie and Bob were members of Friends of the Cross, another loving and caring group of friends who met once a month at Barton Skilled Nursing Center to hold a church service for the residents. Angie thought of the residents as some of the most loving people she had ever met and this is where Angie spent the last 2 months of her life.
Angie loved singing, whether for a church service, Karaoke, or with the Lake Tahoe Community College Rock Ensemble class. In class she sang everything from Adele, Rolling Stones, Elvin Bishop, Led Zeppelin, BTO and many other artists. She was most appreciative of Eric Helberg’s help and making the Ensemble possible.
Angie was born in Yreka to Janet Benson and Gary Strain. She attended North Valley Christian Academy elementary school, Redding, CA and Northglenn High School, in the Denver area. She attended St. Paul Bible College (now Crown College) before transferring and graduating from Sacramento State University with a BA in Public Relations/Communications.
Angie was preceded in death by her father Gary Strain and both sets of grandparents Illa and Joe Strain and Edna and Frank LeRoy Benson of Yreka CA, and most recently her stepson Michael Jay Peart of Davis CA. She is survived by her husband of eighteen years Bob Peart, her mother Janet Peacock and stepfather Jerry Peacock, her sister Mandy Merkel, all of South Lake Tahoe, and a brother Marshall Bravo of Reno, NV. Although she and Bob had no children, Angie enjoyed her nieces, nephews Braydon and Brianna Merkel of South Lake Tahoe, Casey, Allie, Marshall II, Ayden and Austin Bravo of Reno NV, step children David Reay Peart, Nadia Daniels and Kat Daniels of Woodland CA, Michelle and Elmo Damante of Manteca CA, Lisa Peart of New York City, Laura Selover and Kayla Michelle Peart (Michael’s daughter) of Davis CA and many other cousins and brothers-and sisters-in law.
A celebration of life in her memory will be held at a later date. If you would like to be informed of the date and location of this celebration please send your email address, to SLTROBERT@yahoo.com , number where you can receive a text or call 530-318-9421
