Christa Karin Stoeri

October 25, 1939 ~ October 17, 2017

After losing her husband Caspar of 55 years last May, Christa came back to Tahoe to spend time with her family. Soon after, she succumbed to a blood cancer which was recently diagnosed while in Tahoe. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

Christa was born in Berlin, Germany and moved to Freeport, New York in 1960. She worked as a secretary for an electronics firm. There she met Caspar and married in 1962.

They moved to Aspen, Colorado where she worked as a weather girl for a local station. Then later they moved to Marin County where Caspar worked in the ski industry. In the early 70’s, they moved to Tahoe, where they started importing winter boots from Italy and distributing them nationwide until 2007.

They decided to move to Temecula, California where they could enjoy warmer weather, and indulge in gardening all year round.

“Oma” was always celebrating life, and loved to make her favorite German meals for her friends and family. Her kind heart and laughter will be forever missed.

Christa is survived by her sister Hanna in Berlin; daughter and son-in-law Bettina and Bob McIntyre; son Chris Stoeri and his wife Christine; grandsons Brandon, Justin McIntyre, (Jodi), Garrett McIntyre, (August); great grandchildren Summer and Harper; and her beloved grandoggies Stella and Chief.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
