OBITUARY: Bert Joseph Lucido

10/8/1952 – 1/25/2013

Bert Joseph Lucido was born October 8, 1952 and left this world unexpectedly on January 25, 2013. He was a resident of South Lake Tahoe since 1958. Bert was an avid sports fan from golf to football, little league to major league, but he especially loved the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. He thoroughly enjoyed going to work every day at the Lake Tahoe Unified School District and became an icon driving around all the kids on his school bus. He was a kind and generous man who smiled and waved at everyone constantly. He has rejoined his father Arasimo and niece Katie, and will be truly missed by those he left behind: His wife of 30 years, Del (Shorty), daughter Dani (20 yrs), mother Frances, sister Francine, brothers John and David, nephews Greg and Tommy, niece Alexa, and other extended family, along with an overwhelming number of friends and community members whose lives he touched daily.

Friends and family are welcome to wear shorts and join us in the celebration of Bert’s life on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church with a reception following at Grace Hall.

In lieu of flowers, an account for voluntary donations has been established at Wells Fargo for Bert’s wife, Del Munro-Lucido, and his only child, Dani, to provide for the continuation of her college education. Donations can also be contributed to any charity for the blind in honor of his nephew, Tommy. Please refer to “Bert ‘the Bus Driver’ Memorial Fund”.
