September 19, 1943 – January 6, 2022

Jim was born in Pasadena, California, to James Garrett Brand and Marion Ruth MacDonald Brand. He died peacefully in his Round Hill, Nevada, home from chronic heart failure.

Jim began his life-long construction career at Swim Con Pool Company in Pasadena, and was co-owner for 10 years. He met Janis Gail Himango at Pasadena City College and they were married on May 22, 1965. He moved his family to South Lake Tahoe in 1979, where they owned the House of Wood Furniture. He continued his occupation with various employers including Tahoe Beach & Ski Club, Allied Heating, and Lake Tahoe Airport. His favorite pastimes were tending his lawns and garden, and watching NASCAR.

Jim is survived by his wife, daughter Jodie (Calvin), son Jason (Megan), grandchildren Alexa, Miles, Juniper and Koah; Brand cousins Gary, Joan, Phil and Steve; nephew Fred; and brother-in-law Gerry. He was pre-deceased by his parents, granddaughter Montgomery, and sister Barbara.

Per his wishes, there will be no services.
