August 25, 1983 – March 6, 2024

Nico (Nick) Wester, 40, of Reno, NV suddenly passed away on March 6, 2024. His loss is completely unexpected, leaving all of his family and friends
profoundly shocked and saddened.

He was born as Charles Nicholas Wester on July 25, 1983 in Hobbs, N.M., the third child and only son of Chuck and Julie Wester. He lived in Andrews, TX
near his paternal grandparents from age 2 to 9 then moved to Lompoc, CA where he graduated from Maple High School in 2001. He began his studies
that fall at the College of the Redwoods in Eureka, CA. He continued to live in the area and worked for years in sales and horticulture until
moving to South Lake Tahoe in 2010 to pursue his dream of skiing and living the outdoor mountain life. He moved back to Eureka again in 2014, then back
to South Lake Tahoe again in 2018 before moving to Reno, NV in 2021.

Nick was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout while growing up (attending the Boy Scout Jamboree in 2001 and went on three 50 mile hikes in the Sierras). He also did
lots of camping with his family along the coast of California. He consequently became an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hiking, disc
golf as well as skiing. He had a passion for animals and worked at the Viva animal shelter in Lompoc. He rescued numerous animals from the streets
starting at the age of 8. His dogs (Hoover and Chopper) were his faithful and constant companions.

Nick often said that his superpower was making friends. He had so many in every place that he lived. He enjoyed having good times and making
memories. He was outgoing, gregarious and accepted everyone with an open heart, some of the best hugs in the world, and an infectious smile. He will
be truly missed by all.

He leaves behind his mother – Julia Jan Lawson of Eureka, his father – Charles Edward Wester of South Lake Tahoe, sister Mia and Joshua Damwyk, sister Janna Wester, as well as niece Rubee Rathbun, nephews Nathan Means, Jakeb Hyslop, Andrew Damwyk, his love Natalie Combs, as well as a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Eureka on Saturday May 25th at 2:00PM with a reception following. A Celebration of Life party
will occur from 1:00 to sunset on Saturday July 20th at Round Hill Pines Resort at Lake Tahoe.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to animals in need.
