Paula Facciolla

Paula Facciolla, age 65, died suddenly on December 13th in Reno, NV while visiting her daughters for the holidays. She was a 30-year-resident of North Lake Tahoe until she was widowed at age 48 when her husband, Don Facciolla, died of liver cancer in 2002. Don and Paula owned and operated Ponderosa Property Maintainance in Incline Village for fifteen years. Paula found a new life with her partner Duane Culbertson (DC) and moved to southern Baja near the town of Los Barriles, Mexico in 2004. She returned frequently to the United States to visit family and friends.

Born in Minneapolis, MN, Paula moved to southern California as a young child where she lived until moving to Tahoe in 1975 with Ron Webb to be closer to her mother, Mary Michaelene.

She was young, vibrant and full of life. She had a huge heart, in fact, it was twice as big as a normal heart and that’s ultimately why she died. She gave the best hugs and loved everyone she ever met. Her absence in our lives is impossible to comprehend. We will miss her forever.

Paula is survived by her daughters Mara (Webb) Penny and Jesse (Webb) Ruppert, her partner Duane Culbertson (DC), her grandchildren Julius Penny, Olive Penny, Alice Ruppert, and her siblings Claudia Schultz and Rollie Schultz.

There will be a celebration of Paula’s life on Saturday, January 12th at 4:00 PM at The Club at Arrow Creek, 2905 Arrowcreek Parkway, Reno, NV 89511. Condolences may be sent to the family at 5895 Sunset Ridge Court, Reno NV 89511.
