Robert Alan Lawson
Long-time South Lake Tahoe resident Robert “Bob” Alan Lawson, 62, lost his battle with cancer April 13, 2019, in Sparks, Nev.
He was born to Jack C. and Juanita Lawson on Dec. 18, 1956, in Marysville, Calif. He was a 1975 graduate of Yuba City High School. He moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1990 and lived there until a few months before his death.
A gentle soul with a wry sense of humor, Bob loved the outdoors, Blues music, following golf and NBA, reading, and science and nature shows.
Early in his career he worked as a surveyor. After moving to Lake Tahoe, he worked at Mountain Photo and later as a bar tender, most recently at Mont Bleu Resort.
Bob was predeceased by his father and his nephew, Philip Michael Taylor. He is survived by his mother, sister and brother-in-law Sally and Nathan Roberts, of Sparks, Nev., brother and sister-in-law Patrick and Chris Lawson of Concord, nephews Joseph Taylor of Reno, Nev., and James Lawson of Los Alamitos, Calif., and niece Sarah Lawson Douty of Elk Grove, Calif., and his former wife Jenni Nims of South Lake Tahoe.
A celebration of life will be held at Lake Tahoe at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center through the Carson Tahoe Health Foundation.
