Ruth E. Onorato

A memorial service was conducted Jan. 18 at Cambridge, Minn., for former South Lake Tahoe resident Ruth E. Onorato, who died Jan. 9, 2001, at the Lodi Convalescent Home in Lodi, Calif. She was 84.

Mrs. Onorato was born Aug. 16, 1916, at Cambridge, Minn., to Erick and Ella (Johnson) Olson. After high school she worked in Minneapolis before moving to San Francisco. She lived around and north of the Bay Area and eventually relocated to South Lake Tahoe. She loved gardening and was known as an excellent cook. She was kind, generous and fun-loving and will be missed by family and friends.

Survivors include sons, Stewart Cewe of Highland Park, Ill., and Frank Onorato of Hawaii; sister, Mildred (Delmer) Erickson of Cambridge, Minn.; two grandchildren in Hawaii; and nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Frank Onorato Sr.; brother Rudolph Olson; and sister, Martha Axell, who died Jan. 13, 2001.

Memorial services took place Jan. 18, 2001, at the Strike Funeral Home Chapel, Cambridge, Minn.
