James F. "Jim" Meehan

No services are planned for James F. “Jim” Meehan, who died Jan. 27, 2001, at Barton Memorial Hospital, following a short illness. He was 47.

Mr. Meehan was born Sept. 1, 1953, at Whittier, Calif., and was raised in Palm Springs, Calif. He moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1979, where he worked for Harrah’s Tahoe and Bill’s casinos as a pit floor supervisor and dealer. He loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors and was a licensed pilot who enjoyed flying sail planes.

Survivors include his mother, Veronica C. Meehan, and sister and brother-in-law, Veronica and Bob Wilkie, all of South Lake Tahoe. He was predeceased by his father, James E. Meechan.

Cremation is planned and his ashes will be scattered in the Sierra. The family requests that donations in Mr. Meehan’s memory be made to a favorite charity.
