Obituary- Agasi ‘Art’ Michitarian

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 2 for Agasi “Art” Michitarian, who died April 28, 2001, at Carson Tahoe Hospital, Carson City, Nev. He was 89.

Mr. Michitarian was born May 1, 1913, in Armenia to Aram and Gajane Michitarian and served in the Russian Army. He had been a resident of Lake Tahoe since 1967, coming to the area from Los Angeles. Mr. Michitarian was a restaurant owner for many years and was a member of Our Lady of Tahoe Catholic Church. He enjoyed being around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a loving and caring father and grandfather. He loved animals.

Survivors include his sons, Robert Michitarian of Carson City and Edward Michitarian of Los Angeles; daughter, Angie Watson of Stateline, Nev.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Sernush Michitarian in 1999.



Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. May 2 at Our Lady of Tahoe Catholic Church, followed by burial at Happy Homestead Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Walton’s Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.
