Abet passed away peacefully last January 13, 2012. Abet was born on June 15, 1944, in the Philippines, and was married to Marilu for 32 years. They have two daughters. They migrated to the U.S. in the late 80s and settled in South Lake Tahoe until he retired in the Philippines last 2007. He is survived by his two daughters, Joanie (husband Eric Enriquez) and Joy (husband Ben Flora), and three granddaughters, Caia, Alia, and Emily, two brothers in the Philippines and two sisters in Australia and in Las Vegas. He is predeceased by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He worked for Caesars Tahoe and the Horizon Casino for more than twenty years combined. He loved to sing karaoke. He loved taking trips with his family. He was the funniest dad and the best grandfather. Abet will be missed by his countless friends and family. But he is now forever holding hands with his beloved Marilu. A Mass will be said to celebrate his life at noon on Saturday, June 23, at St. Theresa Church and will be followed by a reception. Interment will be on June 25, 11am, at Happy Homestead Cemetery.
