OBITUARY: Alexander Nicholas Graf

ALEXANDER NICHOLAS GRAF of Cave Rock, Nevada died Saturday, December 10, 2011. Alex was born in San Francisco on September 19, 1944 to the late Nicholas and Minnie Graf. Alex graduated from Lincoln High in San Francisco and went on to earn his Masters Degree in Geology from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. He took part in early mineral exploration in East Africa for his first employer and traveled frequently to Brazil, where he made lifelong friends.

A longtime resident of Lake Tahoe, Alex enjoyed skiing, hiking and exploring the Sierras. Alex was a founding partner in Tahoe Keys Resort, Inc. and a long time supporter of the Lake Tahoe tourism community. Those who knew Alex, knew him to be a loyal and committed friend.

Alex is survived by a niece, Robin Schiller Graf of Denver, Colorado and nephew Michael Graf of Sonora, California and many, many friends who will miss him dearly. Alex will be laid to rest beside his parents in the Serbian Cemetery in Colma.
