Althea Louise Laufer

June 3, 1924 – Feb 26, 2012

ALTHEA LOUISE LAUFER passed away in South Lake Tahoe, CA surrounded by her family. She was born in Bourne, MA and moved to San Rafael in 1944 upon her marriage to John Laufer, Jr. She worked at Hamilton AFB while her husband served in the Pacific during WWII. Afterwards they raised a family of four children. Althea

lived a full life, loved the ocean and while raising their four children, devoted her time to Little League, scouts and water lessons.

Althea and John moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1976 and lived their retirement years in their beloved mountains. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and is survived by her children: John & wife Liz Laufer, Ron & wife Jeanette Laufer, Kathy & husband Frank Archibald, and Mark & wife Michelle Laufer. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
