OBITUARY: Amanda Leigh Matthews

12-22-1986 ~ 1-26-2012
It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of my beautiful daughter Amanda. She was very ill with juvenile diabetes. Amanda was born and raised in South Lake Tahoe, and graduated from South Tahoe High School in 2005. Amanda cared deeply for her family and friends. She loved her cats and dogs very much, she was a very kind and caring person. Amanda is now in the arms of her Daddy, Rick, in heaven. She was studying to be a wedding planner. She had a passion for ’50s nostalgia such as I love Lucy, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Elvis Presley. Amanda enjoyed many hot August nights.
She is survived by her Mother, Jennifer Matthews, sisters, Molly and Andrea and niece Emma. Also many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many friends that loved her.
Donations can be made in her name to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation at http://www.jdrf.org
You are welcome to join us for a service and celebration of life on Fri. Feb. 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church of the Sierra 930 Julie Lane 530-541-1975
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Amanda’s name at El Dorado Savings at the Y.
