OBITUARY: Barbara A. Barber

December 1, 1925 – January 6, 2013

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Barbara A. Barber, 87, passed away in Citrus Heights, CA, on January 6, 2013.

Barb was born on December 1, 1925 in Burlingame, CA, the oldest of three children. She spent her childhood in the Bay Area and moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1957, raising her family there. While in Tahoe, Barb opened Lake Tahoe Studio Dance, the first dance studio to be opened in South Lake Tahoe. She was an avid dancer and music fan her entire life, and loved to travel whenever she could. Barb will always be remembered for her warmth, humor, zest for life, and love for her family and friends. She will always be the life of our party.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Barber; sister Claudia McDermott; children David Boldt, Edward Boldt, Alan Boldt, Jandy Barber, Stephen Barber, and Brock Barber; 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many loved friends. Barb was preceded in death by her son Benjamin Boldt.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 12 PM at St. Mel’s Catholic Church, 4745 Pennsylvania Ave, Fair Oaks, CA. A reception will follow at 1 PM at the same location.
