Obituary: Charles Herbert "Pepper" Young Jr.

A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, Sept. 3 for Charles Herbert “Pepper” Young Jr., who died Aug. 22, 2000, at his home in Stateline, Nev. He was 52.

Mr. Young was born April 10, 1948, at Malden, Mass., to Charles H. Young Sr. and Helen Fahey Young. He came to Tahoe from St. Petersburg Beach, Fla., and had been a resident of Stateline as well as an employee of Overli Plumbing for the past 13 years. Mr. Young loved NASCAR racing and outdoor activities including fishing, golfing and camping. He enjoyed spending times with his friends and was a member of the “505” Club, a social group of close friends. He regularly donated to the Christopher Reeves Foundation and to the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his brother, Matt Young, and sister, Carol Sabol, both of Stateline.



A Celebration of Life is scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3 at the Goal Post Restaurant and Bar on Kingsbury Grade. Private family inurnment is planned.
