OBITUARY: Chelerina G. Gontang

February 2, 1927 – June 4, 2012

Chelerina G Gontang passed away on Monday, June 4 at a local hospital in Reno. She was surrounded by three of her nine children. She was born February 2, 1927 in Samar, Phillippines. She met and married Sgt Isidro E Gontang during WWII in the Phillippines. Mrs Gontang was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Sgt Isidro Gontang, and her daughters, Teresita LaGuardia of Abilene, Texas and Josephine Mokhtari of Spokane, Washington. She is survived by her children sons, Augustin Gontang and his wife Kathleen of South Lake Tahoe; David Gontang and his wife Traci of Dayton, Nevada; daughters, Cecelia LaRock, Celerina Rounds and Betty Lou Gontang of South Lake Tahoe: Maryjane Albernaz of Cranston. Rhode Island and Virginia Garrigan of Castro Valley, California: 14 Grandchildren and 26.3 Great Grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in the Phillippines.
